The artist and album cover I chose to write about is Sza (Solana Imani Rowe) and her album “Ctrl” which was released in June 2017. This is her second debut album that she released at the age of 26 and is filled with heartbreak, self reflection, relationships and more. She plays with her silky voice, some r&b mixed with electronic production and beautiful harmonies. The artist who shot the album cover for Sza is Sage Adams, she is an American photographer who has shot a few times with Sza and is her “right hand creative”. She is also a founder of Art Hoe Collective,  a platform that promotes works by queer artists of color and other marginalized people through Instagram and gallery shows. (has done a few other shots with Sza besides the album cover art).
